Consumer Finance Enforcement Action Tracker - CFPB Edition

BRG’s Financial Institution Advisory (FIA) practice is pleased to submit this first version of the Consumer Finance Enforcement Action Tracker – CFPB Edition. This tracker will provide insight into current trends in regulatory enforcement actions and use those actions to support institutions in initiating risk mitigation steps and forecasting possible directions of future actions.

This inaugural edition includes data from all of 2020 through June 2021 and includes the following:

• Summary of current actions
• Enforcement action trends quarter over quarter
• Violation types cited
• Product types cited
• Regulatory trends
• Spotlight on actions

This edition includes Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) data only. All data provided in this report is published publicly but is not always readily available; we have consolidated the data here to be easily accessible and quickly utilized. We plan to expand this tracker to include other regulatory entities and states to provide and increasingly comprehensive snapshot of consumer finance actions.
