BRG Strengthens Forensics Practice with Four Senior Appointments in Germany

October 29, 2026

BRG today announced the appointments of Dr. Ricardo Gomez and Christoph Schlossarek as managing directors in its Forensic Technology, Investigations & Discovery (FTID) practice, significantly strengthening the firm’s senior forensic capabilities in Germany.

Based in Düsseldorf and operating across BRG’s offices in Berlin and Munich, Gomez and Schlossarek will help drive the growth of BRG’s German forensics practice and ensure senior practitioner involvement and direct client access to experienced experts in every engagement.

Gomez has advised clients on complex investigations, compliance programmes and corporate controls for more than 20 years. He has led cross-border matters across Europe, the Americas and Asia for clients in sectors including automotive, private equity, energy, media and telecommunications and logistics. His experience includes drafting enhanced compliance controls and processes in the context of non-prosecution agreements. He has presented findings to law enforcement agencies including the U.S. Department of Justice, Southern District of New York.

Schlossarek’s career spans over two decades in forensic investigations, internal audit and corporate security. Having held senior leadership positions within multinational organisations as well as advisory roles, he brings firsthand experience of governance, risk and security challenges facing global businesses.

The FTID practice has further added Patrick Schneider as a director and Nawied Bhatti as an associate director. Schneider has expertise in financial statement fraud investigations arising from merger and acquisition (M&A) transactions, often in dispute or pre-insolvency situations. He serves on the board of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners German chapter. Bhatti specializes in the technical delivery of eDiscovery projects supporting complex investigations and legal matters. He is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).

BRG Vice Chairman Dr. David Sunding said: “Ricardo and Christoph are highly respected forensic practitioners, and Patrick adds further specialist investigations and technology expertise to the team. Together with Nawied, they strengthen our platform and accelerate the growth of our forensic offering in Germany. As investigations become more complex, international and business-critical, clients need senior advisers who can navigate uncertainty, focus quickly on the issues that matter most and deliver practical, defensible outcomes. This team brings exactly that combination of expertise and judgement”.

Gomez said: “BRG is a firm built by experts for clients facing complex challenges, and that strongly appealed to us. The culture, calibre of colleagues and commitment to senior-level involvement throughout every matter set BRG apart. It provides an outstanding platform for us to continue delivering the high-quality, hands-on service our clients expect”.

Schlossarek added: “We see in BRG a unique combination of entrepreneurial culture, deep forensic expertise and global reach. As our clients face increasingly international and complex challenges, we can draw on BRG’s network of experts across more than 40 offices worldwide, allowing us to deliver integrated support while maintaining the close partner involvement that defines our practice”.

The additions showcase the continued global growth of BRG’s FTID practice following the appointment of Jon Rowell as a managing director and FTID Asia-Pacific head in Singapore in August. This also builds on BRG’s expansion in Germany following its acquisition of E.CA Economics in April. BRG expects to announce further senior hires as it continues to build out the practice globally.
