
Jon Rowell
Jon Rowell is a Chartered Accountant with more than thirty years of professional services experience in forensic accounting and investigations, dispute consulting and valuation.
Jon Rowell is BRG’s Asia-Pacific head of Forensic Technology, Investigations & Discovery. He specialises in investigations, litigation and dispute advisory services. He assists in-house and external counsel in matters involving complex accounting analysis, valuation of damages, valuation of businesses and investigations of accounting fraud and corruption.
Mr. Rowell has experience in shareholder disputes, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and joint venture disputes, contractual disputes, business valuation disputes, business interruption claims and fraud and corruption investigations. His work spans industry sectors including telecommunications, media, construction, insurance, energy and natural resources, property, mining, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, financial services and consumer products.
Mr. Rowell is a leading arbitration expert witness, forensic accountant and quantum of damages and valuation expert, having been appointed on more than eighty occasions as independent accounting expert, consulting expert or investigating accountant. Lexology Index has consistently recognised him in its Forensic Accountants, Arbitration Expert Witnesses, Investigations and Quantum of Damages guides.
Mr. Rowell has provided expert evidence in the High Court of Hong Kong; Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court; arbitral tribunals under ICC, CIETAC, LCIA, HKIAC, UNCITRAL and SIAC rules; Federal Court of Australia; Supreme Court of Victoria; and Supreme Court and District Court of New South Wales.
Mr. Rowell holds a bachelor’s degree in economics, banking and finance from Cardiff University. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
Mr. Rowell has lived and worked in the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore. He has led cross-border client engagements in China, Asia, Europe, Australia and North America.
