BRG experts took part in, and BRG sponsored, panels and events throughout Australian Arbitration Week 2025.

On October 14:

  • BRG sponsored and joined ACICA, the ACICA Sustainability Taskforce, and the Campaign for Greener Arbitrations in the Walk & Talk event as part of the Australian Arbitration Week Wellbeing Program. Members of the Taskforce led an early morning walk, and Thomas Fearis led a dedicated running group.
  • Isaac Wong joined ACICA45 and Corrs Chambers Westgarth in the panel “40 Years Forward: Arbitration in 2065 – Innovation across Borders,” celebrating ACICA’s fortieth anniversary, to explore how arbitration may evolve over the next four decades, with a specific focus on technology, artificial intelligence, and innovation in disputes and proceedings.

On October 15, BRG co-hosted “Delay and Other Disasters: Dispute Resolution in the Energy and Infrastructure Sectors across the Asia-Pacific” with Atkin Chambers and Peter & Kim. Sharon McGahey joined a distinguished arbitrator, counsel and funder to explore pitfalls in dispute resolution in energy and infrastructure projects across the APAC region.

On October 16, Ms. McGahey took part in the panel “From Conflict to Resolution: Tackling Multi-Contract Arbitrations in Construction,” hosted by the Society of Construction Law (Australia), to discuss the complexities of consolidation and multi-contract arbitrations in large-scale construction projects.

On October 17, Mr. Fearis and other featured speakers took part in “ICC YAAF: ArbitraBattle – The Ultimate Arbitration Showdown,” a dynamic event where top arbitration practitioners went head to head in a series of short debates.
