BRG experts will take part in, and BRG will sponsor, multiple panels and events during Australian Arbitration Week 2025.

On October 14:

  • BRG is proud to sponsor and join ACICA, the ACICA Sustainability Taskforce and the Campaign for Greener Arbitrations in the Walk & Talk event as part of the Australian Arbitration Week Wellbeing Program. Members of the Taskforce will lead this early morning walk, with a dedicated running group led by Thomas Fearis.
  • Isaac Wong will join ACICA45 and Corrs Chambers Westgarth in their panel “40 Years Forward: Arbitration in 2065 – Innovation across Borders,” celebrating ACICA’s fortieth anniversary. This forward-looking discussion will explore how arbitration may evolve over the next four decades, with a specific focus on technology, artificial intelligence and innovation in disputes and proceedings.

On October 15, BRG will co-host “Delay and Other Disasters: Dispute Resolution in the Energy and Infrastructure Sectors across the Asia-Pacific” with Atkin Chambers and Peter & Kim. Sharon McGahey will join a distinguished arbitrator, counsel and funder to explore pitfalls in dispute resolution in energy and infrastructure projects across the APAC region.

On October 16:

  • BRG will co-host the panel “Energy Market Disputes: Navigating a Rapidly Evolving Landscape” with Jones Day. Phillip Solomon and other panelists will explore the evolving energy market and disputes emerging from its rapid transformation and offer practical insights for navigating the dynamic landscape. Topics will include challenges in primary energy development, the impact of renewables and the energy transition, and the hydrogen market.
  • Ms. McGahey will take part in the panel “From Conflict to Resolution: Tackling Multi-Contract Arbitrations in Construction,” hosted by the Society of Construction Law (Australia), to discuss the complexities of consolidation and multi-contract arbitrations in large-scale construction projects.

On October 17, Mr. Fearis and other featured speakers will take part in “ICC YAAF: ArbitraBattle – The Ultimate Arbitration Showdown,” a dynamic event where top arbitration practitioners will go head to head in a series of short debates.
