Thomas Fearis

Head of Business Development and Client Services, Asia-Pacific

Thomas Fearis is BRG’s Asia-Pacific (APAC) Head of Business Development and Client Services and a member of BRG’s APAC leadership team.

He splits his time between the firm’s Hong Kong and Perth offices and works closely with BRG’s Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) professionals. Mr. Fearis has over ten years of global experience in the legal industry, working in a variety of roles including as a disputes associate and, more recently, in business development and marketing. He has a strong commercial orientation and an established track record working with BRG’s clients to select the right experts and consultants on their complex high-stakes matters, often valued in the billions of dollars.

Mr. Fearis’ responsibilities involve assisting in the identification, development, coordination, and delivery of expert and advisory services to leading law firms, corporations, and government agencies in APAC and EMEA. He also leads the region’s strategic initiatives around business development, account management, and go-to-market programs.

Before joining BRG, Mr. Fearis was a senior business development executive at a US law firm in Hong Kong, where he led business development and marketing initiatives across APAC for the firm’s international arbitration, M&A and private equity, and corporate risk and government investigations practices. Prior to working in professional services business development and marketing, he trained as an arbitration lawyer at a prominent set of international arbitration chambers in Hong Kong and at premier international law firms in London, Paris, and Perth.

Mr. Fearis earned a BA in political science (international relations) and Asian studies with distinction and an LLB from The University of Western Australia, with study abroad periods at the University of Helsinki and the University of Paris. He is qualified as a solicitor and barrister in Western Australia (non-practising). A triple Australian, British, and Irish national as well as permanent resident of Hong Kong, Mr. Fearis served as a Rotary Youth Exchange Student in Brazil and is conversant in French and Portuguese.
