Sam Ormonde

Based in London, Sam Ormonde brings over seven years of international investigations experience, including asset tracing, dispute (litigation and arbitration) support, strategic intelligence and investigations into fraud, anti-bribery and corruption.

Mr. Ormonde has significant experience with intelligence-led investigations in support of clients involved in complex, multijurisdictional disputes. This includes disputes held in England and Wales, Channel Islands, United States, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Hong Kong, as well as multiple arbitration seats. He also has experience in supporting clients with various legal mechanisms, including enforcing judgments and arbitral awards, seeking disclosure orders and obtaining freezing orders.

Mr. Ormonde’s recent experience includes:

• Led a long-running global asset trace into a Middle East–focused business which included providing evidence in support of
  freezing and disclosure orders
• Supported a sovereign state in defending an investor–state arbitration brought by a foreign investor through examining veracity of claimant’s witness statement and establishing its track record and profile
• Profiled and established track record of witnesses involved in a significant fraud in the Middle East
• Managed an intelligence-gathering investigation which sought to understand whether the client’s former executive was seeking to establish a competitor and had breached contractual agreements
• Led an asset trace investigation on behalf of the victims of a Ponzi scheme against a US investment fund manager
• Provided hard-to-access intelligence to a creditor involved in a contentious restructuring exercise in the Caribbean
