John Reese has over fourteen years of experience in the healthcare industry, working to improve cost performance and drive integration synergies across a diverse range of healthcare organizations.

John Reese is a director in BRG’s Corporate Finance practice and advises clients on financial risk and how to improve operations to enhance departmental function. Throughout his career, Mr. Reese has met client needs across provider organizations, healthcare services firms, and life sciences companies. He has a wide range of experience, with expertise centering on improving the effectiveness of administrative and shared service areas to enhance overall operations. When addressing healthcare operations, Mr. Reese works to evaluate and improve workforce, supply chain, and operating processes. He has designed and led expense management programs across the United States. He ensures that the program design considers administrative costs, workforce management processes, span of control, and the rationalization of purchased services.

Mr. Reese’s project results span operational areas including contracted services and supplier expense management, workforce management, shared services implementation, capital improvement strategic planning, transaction synergy evaluation, business intelligence, and analytics implementation. Beyond process improvement and cost reduction efforts, Mr. Reese helps improve the policies and cultural norms that contribute to cost inflation by instituting controls and governance to address performance gaps.

Prior to joining BRG, Mr. Reese has held various roles at FTI Consulting, most recently as a managing director. Previously, he served as a business intelligence manager at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he advised perioperative, financial, and clinical leadership.
