Heather McGinnity has over twenty-five years of healthcare finance, reimbursement, and regulatory experience, including hands-on experience in the provider and audit setting. She provides critical interim and long-term revenue and documentation integrity leadership to help minimize clients’ revenue leakage through all phases of the revenue cycle.
Ms. McGinnity has expertise in front-, middle, and back-end revenue cycle workflows, healthcare operations, finance, change management, and Epic hospital billing systems. She also helps clients with data analytics, financial performance metrics, payment reform, and quality measurement. She has in-depth knowledge of Medicare Parts A and B and Medicaid methodologies, including fee-for-service (FFS), prospective payment system (PPS), and managed care organization (MCO) and commercial reimbursement in the hospital, long-term care, rehab (inpatient and outpatient), skilled-nursing facility (SNF), and home health settings.
Ms. McGinnity has written and delivered eight-hour live and modular web-based NASBA CPE-accredited training courses on specialized topics in the Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement genre to audiences including public accounting and industry CPAs and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) staff and managers. She has had direct managerial responsibility over provider billing cycle, electronic data interchange (EDI) operations, and project implementation, including automated eligibility verifications and national payer database. Her regulatory experience includes implementing the HIPAA Privacy Rule, Sarbanes-Oxley, and HIPAA 5010.
