
Franco Ciulla
Franco Ciulla is a managing director in BRG’s Energy & Climate practice and brings extensive knowledge of the energy industry. He advises corporate and financial clients through the entire energy value chain on strategy, risk, planning, and merger and acquisition (M&A) transactions. He has over thirty years of experience working in technical, operational, commercial, and strategic aspects of the business, with particular focus on oil and gas, power, utilities, renewables, and clean energy.
Mr. Ciulla has led a large number of engagements for exploration and production (E&P) and national oil companies (NOCs), power and utilities operators, energy infrastructure owners, service suppliers, equipment manufacturers, technology developers, financial players, government entities, and industry advocacy groups. He has experience across topics related to energy market fundamentals, growth strategy, commercial risk assessment, asset performance analysis, portfolio optimization, cost and supply chain strategies, fiscal benchmarking and optimization, commercial due diligence, capital investment analysis, and operational excellence.
Mr. Ciulla’s professional experience spans over thirty countries throughout the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. Within these regions, he offers direct energy market experience in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Trinidad and Tobago, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Argentina, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, Egypt, Qatar, Kuwait, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Nigeria, Angola, Ghana, Chad, India, Singapore, China, Malaysia, Australia, Japan, and South Korea.
Prior to BRG, Mr. Ciulla led the Energy & Environmental practice for a global strategy consulting firm and worked for consulting firms with focus on the energy sector. Previous to his consulting career, he spent over a decade working in the oil and gas industry as a production optimization leader and asset performance engineer.
Mr. Ciulla holds a BS in petroleum engineering from the Universidad Central de Venezuela and an MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas. He is fluent in English, Spanish, and Italian.
