Emily Axiotis is a Chartered Accountant who focuses on professional and audit negligence cases and investigations into fraud and misconduct.

Emily Axiotis is a Chartered Accountant with experience in auditing, forensic accounting, fraud investigations and audit negligence. She qualified and worked at a Big Four firm and has over ten years of experience in audit and investigations. She has audited financial records and financial statements and managed large teams on audits of both public interest entities and private companies.

Ms. Axiotis has audit experience across industries including business services, retail, transportation and oil and gas, both internationally (including in Kazakhstan and Macedonia) and in the UK. She also has experience in disputes, assessing compliance with relevant accounting treatments under both UK Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), as well as managing investigations of fraud and the misappropriation of assets including cash.

At BRG, Ms. Axiotis has worked on investigations and disputes against auditors in both civil proceedings and regulatory matters, leading investigations and supporting experts in complex audit negligence cases. She has assisted audit experts in connection with professional negligence claims for large audit firms and, together with audit experts, advised lawyers on work carried out by auditors in relation to entities subject to fraud or which have gone into administration. She has experience in writing expert reports, particularly relating to complex audit and accounting matters.

Ms. Axiotis is also responsible for the soft skills training and onboarding training programmes for BRG’s London office. She is an Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) counsellor responsible for providing guidance to BRG’s Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) students during their qualification, particularly regarding ethics.

Ms. Axiotis is on the Young Practitioners subcommittee for the Equal Representation for Expert Witnesses and is a member of the Women’s White Collar Defense Association (WWCDA) and Female Fraud Forum.
