BRG Welcomes Dr. Thanh Do as Director in Global Construction Practice

BRG today announced that Dr. Thanh Do has joined the firm as a director in its Global Construction practice. He will be based in BRG’s Century City–Los Angeles office.
As a structural engineer, forensic investigator, and technical storyteller, Dr. Do helps clients translate complex engineering issues into clear and compelling narratives in a variety of construction disputes. As a prolific expert witness, he specializes in root cause investigations, standard of care evaluations, and construction and design defect analyses.
“Tariff-driven price uncertainty of raw materials is increasing the risk of litigation throughout the design and construction phases of projects around the world,” said Dara Hendrix, a managing director in BRG’s Global Construction practice. “Thanh’s ability to effectively advise on these disputes, shaped by his impressive engineering and investigative backgrounds, is essential for clients navigating these challenging times.”
Dr. Do is a seasoned investigator in matters involving structural failures, design and construction defects, and standard of care. Clients regularly enlist him to identify root causes of performance issues within the built environment. Moreover, his disputes experience encompasses a range of structures, including base-isolated buildings, aerial guideways and bridges, below-grade station buildings, support-of-excavation systems, marine structures, tunnels, and refineries.
“BRG’s Global Construction practice combines deep industry knowledge with first-rate technical expertise,” said Dr. Do. “I look forward to collaborating with this stellar team and leveraging the firm’s resources to better serve my clients in high-stakes disputes.”
In addition to his forensic work, Dr. Do has hands-on experience in the design of new buildings and seismic retrofit of existing structures. He is a frequent speaker and author on topics including structural failures, construction defects, standard of care, risk mitigation, and advanced simulation techniques.
Dr. Do earned his PhD and MS in structural engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
