BRG Appoints Frédéric Palomino as Managing Director in Paris, Strengthening Antitrust & Competition Practice

BRG announced today the appointment of Dr. Frédéric Palomino as a managing director based in the firm’s recently expanded Paris office. His appointment signifies a milestone as BRG’s continues to build its Antitrust & Competition practice in Europe.
Dr. Palomino’s distinguished career in competition economics and complex litigation spans sectors including energy, agri-food, transport, telecommunications, financial services and media. He has advised clients in merger and antitrust cases before the European Commission, French competition authorities and other jurisdictions; and has served as an economic expert in litigation involving shareholder disputes, breach of contract and follow-on claims.
Dr. Palomino’s academic credentials include a PhD in economics from the European University Institute and professorial roles at Tilburg University, HEC Paris, EDHEC, ENSAE and ESSEC. His research has been published in leading journals such as the Journal of Finance, RAND Journal of Economics and Journal of Labor Economics.
“I am thrilled to join BRG and contribute to its dynamic and growing competition and litigation practice,” said Dr. Palomino. “The firm’s commitment to rigorous economic analysis and its collaborative culture make it an ideal platform to expand my practice and serve clients across France and Europe.”
BRG has strategically expanded its global Antitrust & Competition practice, achieving rapid growth across key geographies in recent years. Dr. Palomino’s appointment marks BRG’s latest senior hire in Europe, where he joins a team that includes Laurent Eymard and Xavier Boutin, Brussels-based experts with strong connections to the French market. His arrival follows recent high-profile arrivals including Dennis Beling in Asia-Pacific, Liberty Mncube in South Africa and Giordano Colarullo, Carlo Papa and Cosimo Fischietti in Italy.
“Frédéric’s arrival adds significant depth to our European team,” said Kai-Uwe Kühn, a BRG managing director and former chief economist at DG Competition. “His experience and his broad skills in incentive, financial and competition economics are an invaluable addition as we continue to support clients in increasingly complex competition matters.”
Eymard said, “We’re thrilled to welcome Frédéric. His arrival reinforces BRG’s commitment to the French market. His wide-ranging expertise and depth in finance enhance our capacity to support clients across the full spectrum of litigation.”
“Frédéric joining BRG is a natural next step in our strategy of selective expansion across Europe,” said David Sunding, BRG’s vice chair and Antitrust & Competition practice co-lead. “We’ve been deliberate in building out our European footprint with experts whose practices align with our core strengths and client needs. Frédéric’s practice has immediate synergies with our work in international arbitration, securities disputes and regulatory investigations. His leadership will enhance our ability to deliver integrated, cross-practice solutions to clients navigating complex, multijurisdictional challenges.”
