BRG Announces Scholarship Recipients

January 23, 2026
BRG Leg Up Program

In observance of International Day of Education on January 24, BRG is proud to support the next generation of leaders through its BRG Leg Up Program College Prep and Tuition Scholarships.

The BRG Leg Up Program is a multiday workshop that equips high school students with skills for college and career success. Since 2024, fifteen program alumni from high schools in Boston, Los Angeles, New York, and Washington, DC, and universities including Bowie State University, New York University, the University of Maryland, and the University of Southern California have received funds to offset their college tuition, technology, and application fees. We are proud to support these students who exemplify the program’s mission to eliminate educational barriers and create pathways for success.

Scholarship Recipient Highlights

  • Aaron G. (high school student, Boston): “One key lesson I expect to carry with me from the BRG Leg Up Program is the importance of determination and staying motivated, even when faced with challenges.”
  • Kayla B. (high school student, New York City): “The most valuable lesson I took is the importance of networking. This program fostered an environment that allowed me to practice building professional relationships.”
  • Joana D. (high school student, Boston): “The simple project and skills BRG guided me through opened the door to experiences that transformed my life, my mindset, and the person I strive to become.”
  • Gabriella M. (high school student, Boston) – “I was challenged and encouraged to engage with professionals, shake their hands, and maintain eye contact. This program made me confident in talking to adults and allowed me to grow my communication skills.”
  • Hailey M. (Santa Monica College, Los Angeles): “Lessons on financial literacy, networking, and resume building helped me develop skills often unaddressed in school. Most important, the program helped me grow in confidence and see myself as a leader.”
  • Hermey M. (high school student, Los Angeles): “Through the three years I’ve been with BRG, I have learned many important components that can guide me to success. The most important to me is networking and personal branding.”
  • Sarah S. (University of Maryland, Washington, DC): “While part of the BRG Leg Up Program in the returning cohort this past summer, I was assigned a case study on the impacts of COVID-19 on hospital overcrowding. Through this case, I began learning the strategic approach to solving problems from ethical and judicious standpoints… I have come to admire the hands-on client–consultant interactions and significant impact they can have on solving important business and societal issues.”
