A Retrospect of a Decade of Competition Enforcement in Hong Kong

Hong Kong marked a major milestone with the full implementation of the Competition Ordinance (Cap. 619) (“Ordinance”) in December 2015. The tenth anniversary of implementation provides an opportunity to look at how competition enforcement has evolved in Hong Kong over the past decade. 

Dennis Beling and Dorcas Kwan analyze enforcement activities by the Hong Kong Competition Commission and Communications Authority in the past decade, drawing insights from enforcement trends and approaches as well as patterns in applications and decisions. They also reflect on the authorities’ enforcement direction and policy.
