Anastasia “Nastya” Malyugina is a managing director in BRG’s Disputes and Investigations practice. She works across Eastern Europe, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and Central Asia, based in London. She has specialised in forensics for more than ten years and works with governments, banks, large corporations, and high-net-worth individuals requiring forensic accounting and valuation advice, especially in the context of ongoing or prospective arbitration or litigation, or in settlement negotiations. She acts as a forensic accounting and damages expert witness and has testifying experience. She has handled cases across jurisdictions including Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Turkmenistan, Georgia, Armenia, Latvia, Estonia, Slovenia, Slovakia, and the United Kingdom.
Ms. Malyugina has acted across a wide range of industries and subject matters. Her particular focus is investor-state arbitrations and commercial disputes involving energy and natural resources, major infrastructure and construction projects, and real estate, as well as large-scale financial services litigation.
Ms. Malyugina is an Executive Committee member of the Russian and CIS Arbitration Network (RCAN). She is a regular speaker at conferences and events relating to the CIS.
Ms. Malyugina is a native Russian speaker. Between 2009 and 2015, she was based in the Moscow office of a Big Four firm.
