Sanjay Unni leads BRG’s Securities practice. He holds a PhD in economics with a specialty in financial markets.

He has testified in trial and deposition on issues relating to capital markets and securities transactions. He has also authored studies on the valuation of intangibles and has represented firms in Internal Revenue Service appeals proceedings on disputes relating to international taxation. He has appeared before the chief accountant and chief economist of the Securities and Exchange Commission to discuss issues relating to the valuation and expensing of employee stock options.

In addition to his consulting practice, Dr. Unni has taught courses on financial markets and derivatives at several universities, most recently in the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, where he was cited for excellence in teaching. His research has appeared in peer-reviewed journals and has been selected for presentation at leading academic conferences.
