Michael Lenahen

Michael Lenahen is a managing director in BRG’s Healthcare practice. He works at the intersection of healthcare strategy, finance, and operations and has twenty years of experience advising and leading organizations across the United States.

Mr. Lenahen works with executive teams and boards on growth strategy, financial performance, managed care, value-based care, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A). His experience includes enterprise strategic planning, pre-deal M&A advisory and post-deal integration, payer negotiations, managed care strategy, ambulatory strategy, and performance improvement. He helps healthcare organizations translate strategic priorities into practical operating and financial plans.

Mr. Lenahen’s experience spans Big Four consulting, and he also spent more than five years working for a national, for-profit healthcare system. On the consulting side, he most recently led a managed care consulting practice. He advised healthcare systems on complex payer negotiations, developed negotiation and pricing strategies, and developed strategies for healthcare organizations to offset the regulatory and market headwinds from HR.1 and from the increasing presence of nontraditional competitors. On the provider side, he held senior leadership positions for a large, integrated delivery system, where he worked across finance, corporate strategy and business development, and managed care.

Mr. Lenahen earned an MBA from the University of Georgia and a BS in business administration, with a major in finance, from Bryant University.
