Michael Lenahen Joins BRG as Managing Director in Healthcare Practice

BRG today announced that Michael Lenahen has joined the firm as a managing director in its Healthcare practice. Based in Atlanta, he will help build and lead the practice’s Strategic Advisory service area alongside BRG Managing Director Brian Fisher, with a particular emphasis on consumer strategy and patient access. He will also shape artificial intelligence (AI) and trust initiatives focused on the patient and consumer experience.

Lenahen brings 20 years of experience spanning healthcare consulting and industry leadership. He has advised many of the nation’s largest health systems, including leading academic medical centers and regional systems, on growth strategy, managed care contracting, physician enterprise and value-based care.

“Mike brings a valuable combination of extensive consulting experience and hands-on industry leadership,” said Rich Bajner, a managing director and healthcare advisory lead at BRG. “His perspective as both an industry executive and consulting leader will be a tremendous asset to our clients and our practice as we work alongside health systems to address their most pressing challenges.”

Before joining BRG, Lenahen led a Managed Care practice and advised health systems on payer negotiations, strategic pricing and growth. He previously spent five years at Steward Health Care, holding senior leadership roles in operations, strategy and business development, and finance within an integrated delivery system with more than $8 billion in revenue. Earlier in his career, he held healthcare consulting roles at Deloitte and Navigant Consulting.

Lenahen earned an MBA from the University of Georgia and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Bryant University, where he majored in finance and minored in economics.
