Frédéric Palomino is a seasoned competition economist with extensive experience on complex antitrust and merger matters across Europe.

Frédéric Palomino is a managing director at BRG, based in Paris. He brings over two decades of experience advising clients on competition policy matters across sectors including energy, agri-food, transport, telecommunications, financial services, media and travel. His expertise spans merger control and antitrust investigations at the European Commission and French competition authorities and in other jurisdictions.

Dr Palomino has served as an economic expert in litigation involving shareholder disputes, breach of contract and follow-on damages claims. He previously worked as a case handler at the Conseil de la Concurrence and Autorité de la Concurrence, where he focused on telecommunications cases and merger reviews.

Dr Palomino holds a PhD in economics from the European University Institute and has held academic positions at Tilburg University, HEC Paris, EDHEC, ENSAE and ESSEC. His research in financial economics and industrial organisation has been widely published in leading journals including the Journal of Finance, RAND Journal of Economics and Journal of Labor Economics. He is recommended in Lexology’s Competition Economists index.
