BRG was a proud sponsor of the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) 2026 Midyear Meeting.

Ceren Canal Aruoba and Kristina Shampanier joined the panel “Class Action Rebuttal Across Borders: A Multidisciplinary Defense Perspective,” alongside James A. King (partner, Porter Wright) and Peter J. Pliszka (partner, Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP).

This interdisciplinary panel explored rebuttal analysis in the class certification and damages phases of class action litigation, drawing on experience from US and international class action cases. Panelists shared insights from recent case law and real-world cross-border litigation experience, including expert testimony to illuminate how rebuttal strategies shape outcomes in complex class actions.

Samantha Welch joined the panel “International Sanctions, Export Controls, Tariffs: The Risks of Running Business on a Global Scale,” alongside Damien Devot (partner, Meyer Fabre Avocats), Jennifer Gellie (partner, Pillsbury), and Gabriel Sidere (president, Florida Wellness Company). Panelists explored how companies and financial institutions manage sanctions on a global scale, including the impact of expanded foreign terrorist organization orders in the US; and analyzed best practices for managing international export controls in global operations and risks associated with the dynamic tariff environment.
