Using certificates of origin and blockchain to promote transparency and liquidity in the reduced-carbon gas trade

Chris Goncalves joined the panel discussion “Carbon-Neutral LNG: Emissions Intensity” on September 7. Panelists reviewed the strategic and commercial implications of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of natural gas and liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply chains.

Presenters also discussed blockchain and its potential as a tool to ensure that environmental attributes (EAs) can be tracked, traded, used, and retired without modifications that would vitiate the emerging low-carbon scheme.
