James Farrell is an integral part of BRG’s Litigation and Forensic practice. For over thirty years, he has advised legal counsel, owners, and businesses with their complex economic, financial, accounting, and litigation issues. His focus is on applying economic and accounting analysis to complex matters involving accounting and auditing issues, partnership and shareholder disputes, post-acquisition disputes, damages, lost profits, and breach of contract, primarily in the construction and real estate industry. He has also performed multifaceted analyses of complex accounting records, identified relevant financial information to develop damage claims, and provided expert testimony in federal and state court and arbitrations.
Mr. Farrell began his career in public accounting, working in tax, audit, and consulting groups on a variety of assignments. Additionally, his financial advisory experience includes various positions where he developed strategic focus and direction for all areas of the companies, including sales, marketing, operations, finance, and accounting. Some of his additional responsibilities included budgeting, financial reporting, employee benefits, labor relations, cash management, and legal and banking relationships, as well as resolving pending and threatened litigation.
