Nick O’Donnell is an applied data scientist with extensive experience in healthcare claims sampling, complex damage modeling, and big data analytics in litigation matters.

Nicholas (“Nick”) O’Donnell is an associate director in BRG’s Consumer Protection & Product Liability practice. He is an applied data scientist with extensive experience in healthcare claims sampling, complex damage modeling, and big data analytics in litigation matters.

Mr. O’Donnell provides economic, statistical, infographic, and big data analytic services to clients involved in litigation, arbitration, and mediation. He evaluates quantitatively complex legal problems through his expertise in the fields of data science, mathematics, and statistics. Mr. O’Donnell has developed and overseen the design of complex damages models for a wide range of clients. These models have been used in high-profile, complex litigation, valuation, and class-action cases. He also has extensive experience preparing expert witnesses for deposition and trial and has served as trusted non-testifying consultant.

Mr. O’Donnell uses his expertise in cloud computing platforms and big data architecture to analyze millions and billions of records of data to extract meaningful insights and patterns in financial and transactional data. These analyses and damages models span areas such as environmental, gaming, financial, healthcare, and public infrastructure disputes. With his technical background and experience in litigation consulting, Mr. O’Donnell can explain complicated data and rigorous analytics in a way that makes the expert narrative accessible to a judge or jury.

Mr. O’Donnell graduated cum laude from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Villanova University with a BA in physics. He received the Medallion of Academic Excellence in physics at his graduation, awarded to the degree recipient with the highest grade point average in that field of study. Mr. O’Donnell also obtained a graduate certificate in computer science from Seattle University.
