BRG Strengthens Forensic Accounting and Investigations Practice with Two Senior Hires
Intelligence That Works

BRG announced today that Sabera Choudhury, a specialist in complex forensic investigations and disputes, has joined as a managing director in the firm’s Forensic Accounting and Investigations practice. Based in Chicago, she will advise clients facing complex investigations involving fraud and corruption, enforcement actions, civil and criminal litigation, arbitrations and bankruptcy proceedings. She is the second recent addition to the practice, following Director Faizal Karim, a forensic accounting and compliance veteran based in New York City who arrived earlier this year.

“Sabera and Faizal bring deep experience leading complex, cross-border forensic investigations and advising clients through high-stakes litigation and enforcement matters,” said Ray Kolls, Forensic Accounting and Investigations Practice Group Leader and co-leader of BRG’s Economics, Disputes & Investigations service line. “Their ability to combine rigorous data analytics with clear, actionable insights will be invaluable to clients navigating regulatory scrutiny, managing risk and resolving sophisticated disputes.”

With over 25 years of experience, Choudhury leads global forensic investigations, leverages cross-functional teams and advanced data analytics tools and has presented findings to stakeholders worldwide. During her career, she was based out of London for a Big Four accounting firm, where she honed her expertise in leading complex matters across Europe and Asia. Choudhury brings this specific expertise to BRG and will be co-located in Chicago and London.

“I’m excited to join BRG, especially given the firm’s global platform and capabilities,” said Choudhury. “BRG’s multidisciplinary approach and deep expertise in complex investigations and disputes position it well to help clients navigate regulatory scrutiny and high-stakes investigation and litigation matters. Our global offerings are second to none, and I look forward to working with BRG colleagues to deliver exceptional services to our clients.”

Choudhury earned an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BA in economics from Barnard College, Columbia University.

Karim has more than 25 years of experience performing complex investigations, special audit committee investigations, fraud and forensic accounting assignments, litigation services, merger and acquisition (M&A) advisory services and internal control and compliance assessments related to money laundering, bribery/corruption and economic sanctions.

“I am thrilled to join BRG and the team of former Big Four partners, many of whom I have had the pleasure to work with in the past,” said Karim.

Karim earned a BA in business administration (with an accounting and finance focus) from the University of Washington.
