Bestselling Author and GW Law Professor Dan Solove Names Amy Worley’s "The Confidence Advantage" an Essential Book on Privacy and AI Governance

BRG Managing Director Amy Worley, who leads the firm’s Global Privacy and Information Compliance practice, has earned recognition from bestselling author and privacy law authority Daniel J. Solove for her book The Confidence Advantage: Optimizing Privacy, Cybersecurity and AI Governance for Growth. Worley is widely regarded as one of the field’s leading voices on responsible artificial intelligence (AI), privacy and data protection.
Solove added The Confidence Advantage to his list of “Essential Books on Privacy and AI Governance” on his popular Substack, Solove on Tech. He described the book as “a succinct and practical guide to data governance” that provides “the big picture points concisely” and is “digestible and clear.” He highlighted its practical value for leaders seeking actionable guidance on data governance.
Published earlier this year, The Confidence Advantage introduces Worley’s “Confidence by Design” framework, which helps organizations align privacy, cybersecurity and AI governance efforts through practical, measurable approaches to digital trust. Drawing on her experience advising organizations across industries on emerging technology risk and data strategy, Worley designed the book to help executives and boards navigate increasingly complex regulatory and operational challenges surrounding AI and data governance.
Solove is the most-cited law and technology scholar in the United States, a professor at the George Washington University Law School, CEO of TeachPrivacy and organizer of the Privacy+Security Forum. A longtime authority on privacy and technology law, he has authored more than 10 books and 100 articles on privacy, technology and cybersecurity law.
“It is incredibly meaningful to have The Confidence Advantage recognized by Professor Solove, whose work has shaped how organizations, policymakers and legal practitioners think about privacy and technology governance,” Worley said. “One of my goals with the book was to make digital trust more accessible and actionable for business leaders who are not necessarily privacy or AI governance experts. His recommendation reinforces the need for leaders to understand how to move from reactive compliance to confident, responsible and strategic decision-making.”
As organizations face growing scrutiny around AI deployment, data management and digital trust, The Confidence Advantage provides a framework for connecting governance initiatives to measurable business outcomes. Worley explores how leaders can build accountability across functions, anticipate evolving regulatory expectations, and create governance programs that support innovation while managing risk.
