Quality, Health, and Spending in Medicare Advantage and Traditional Medicare

BRG’s Healthcare Policy team compares performance by Medicare Advantage (MA) and traditional Medicare (TM) on quality, health, and cost outcomes. The paper is based on a systematic review of the peer-reviewed literature and found that 65 percent of analyses found a statistically significant relationship: 52 percent favored MA and 13 percent favored TM.
