In a lawsuit brought by a certified class of employees against several prominent meat production and processing companies, the plaintiffs alleged the defendant companies engaged in wage fixing and, thereby, wage suppression over a multiyear period. BRG experts conducted rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis of documents and data, supplemented by field visits to company production and processing facilities. These experts’ reports showed that employee wages not only were not suppressed but they in fact increased substantially and differentially among the companies, due in part to negotiated collective bargaining agreements between the unionized employees and company executives and managers.
