Society of Construction Law North America 2022 Conference
Denver, Colorado
July 6-8, 2022
The Society of Construction Law North American (SCL NA) will host its inaugural annual conference. The theme for the conference is “Rocky Mountain Highs and Lows: Lessons Learned in Managing Construction Disputes.”
Several BRG professionals will take part in panels on July 7:
- Jeff Ottesen will participate in “Mitigation v. Acceleration: What’s the Difference?” Topics will include contractor-delays; voluntary, instructed, and constructive acceleration in the context of how it arises; and what generally has to be shown to recover.
- John Jerz will participate in “Disruption/Loss of Productivity Claims.” Panelists will discuss causes of disruption and loss of productivity; the impact COVID has had on productivity of construction projects; and methods to calculate and value productivity loss.
- Jon Perry will participate in “Delay and Disruption Claims: Old Concepts, New Approaches.” The panel will highlight and contrast the “modern” and “traditional” methods of delay and disruption claims.
The conference will explore themes related to complex dispute resolution and construction law best practices, as the industry adapts and rises above the challenges in 2022. Anamaria Popescu is the chairman of the SCL NA. BRG is a platinum sponsor of the conference.
