Innovation-Based Economic Security
Laura Tyson and Bruce Guile
Summer 2021
Laura Tyson and Bruce Guile write that, to benefit from today’s globalized research and development, the United States needs to make science and technology (S&T) policies an integral part of economic security. The US should adopt a new aim for S&T policy of achieving economic security through innovation, with a coherent set of organizing principles that allow the government to analyze progress, distribute resources, and coordinate actions.
