Seamus O’Doherty is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, Chartered Builder, adjudicator, arbitrator and mediator with nearly thirty years of experience in commercial and project management and related disciplines.
He has worked for international engineering and construction companies, consultancies and client organisations on projects in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Russia, Ukraine, Mexico, the United States, India, China and the Middle East.
Mr. O’Doherty’s experience includes cost, procurement, contract, claims and commercial management on a range of projects including airport, rail, metro, bridge, commercial, residential, civil, educational, health, industrial, power, steel plants and pharmaceutical. He has worked with standard and bespoke main contracts and sub-contracts including NEC, JCT, ICE and FIDIC.
In addition to his experience as a construction professional, Mr. O’Doherty has experience in a range of dispute matters and has provided expert evidence. He has assisted clients with litigious matters in the formulation of strategy, preparation of documents and case presentation. He is regularly appointed as the quantum expert in construction and engineering disputes. He is also a dispute resolver and is a panel member of the RICS President’s Panel of Construction Adjudicators, UK Adjudicators, the CIC Low Value Disputes Adjudication Scheme and the CIArb Business Arbitration Scheme. He is a CEDR ADR Official for consumer disputes.
