Overview

Sachin Sharma, a director at BRG, brings more than ten years of experience helping hospitals and health systems improve financial, operational, and clinical performance. He is a recognized expert in workforce operations and has extensive experience in the areas of labor management infrastructure programs, designing labor productivity tracking systems, target-setting processes, and position-review processes. He has served as client executive on engagements ranging across academic medical centers, integrated health systems, community hospitals, and faith-based systems to help improve financial and operational performance through system integration and consolidation, financial turnarounds, and performance improvement. His scope of services include workforce, revenue cycle, clinical documentation improvement, supply chain, clinical performance improvement, service-line rationalization, and physician practice enhancement.

Mr. Sharma’s representative engagements and expertise before joining BRG | Prism included:  

  • Implemented more than $35 million in workforce and supply chain expense reduction at a nationally recognized dedicated children’s hospital in a time of rapid growth. The engagement included optimizing the leadership structure and span of control improvements.
  • Led large-scale performance improvement projects evaluating all areas of expense reduction and revenue enhancement within an academic medical center in the Midwest. The transformational engagement spanned eighteen to twenty months and resulted in more than $100 million of financial benefits to the health systems. The improved financial outlook helped secure bond financing at a favorable rate.
  • Served as a project leader for a $1.7 billion net patient revenue, six-hospital system and coordinated implementation of $72 million in savings in the areas of workforce, non-labor, physician practice management, and clinical operations
  • Delivered and designed a clinical transformation engagement in the Midwest that operationalized an observation unit with emphasis on protocols to standardize clinical care and patient throughput. This resulted in a decrease in overall length of stay and the decompression of the emergency department.
