Rick Moffat specializes in providing consultation in the areas of project risk management, scheduling, cost, and delay and disruption, as well as other project management and dispute resolution concerns, on commercial, industrial, infrastructure, and institutional construction endeavors, including fast-track and troubled projects.
Mr. Moffat provides owner and contractor representation and advises clients on issues involving process assessment and development, project administration, management, cost growth, delay issues, and claim preparation. Through his years as a project manager and expert consultant, he has developed an extensive knowledge of project management, scheduling, and cost controls. He has prepared delay and damages reports for owners, developers, contractors, and subcontractors.
Before working in consulting, Mr. Moffat helped to establish the U.S. office of a large masonry and concrete company and was responsible for contract risk assessment, scheduling, change processing, and closeout of the company’s projects. He also spent 10 years working for an international general contracting and construction management firm, serving as project manager, scheduler, and field engineer on commercial, industrial, and institutional projects for which he prepared, updated, and analyzed CPM schedules for both construction schedule maintenance and claim assessment.
Mr. Moffat is an experienced testifier in arbitration and has led presentations in facilitated mediation and settlement venues.
