Julio Marañon is an economist with more than fifteen years in business development, financial planning, corporate governance, and claims management in Latin America market. He is a negotiator who has the ability to finalize contracts on globally competitive terms and has a record of success in developing and building long-term competitive relationships.
Mr. Marañon has experience identifying, prospecting, and contacting decision makers at all levels in businesses organization, as well as cultivating customer relationships with commercial and industrial, institutional and governmental organizations. He also has experience structuring and securing strategic partnerships for new business opportunities, negotiating key business terms, and driving to contract execution.
Mr. Marañon acted as claims coordinator in a 720-megawatt thermal power project. He has worked for the owner leading a multidisciplinary team and developed trading worth up to R $650 million with the major equipment suppliers and construction of the project. He has prospected, originated, and developed new renewable projects in Mexico and performed due diligence and negotiated renewable energy projects in Chile, Argentina, and Brazil.
Mr. Marañon led governance of shareholder participation for large companies in Bolivia and Brazil, and negotiated with the Bolivian government the compensation for the nationalization of company assets, obtaining payment of more than $100 million for the shareholders. He also developed financial models for oil and gas pipeline companies in Bolivia and Brazil, and negotiated long-term contracts with major upstream companies for the Bolivian pipeline system and for the Bolivia–Brazil gas pipeline.
Mr. Marañon speaks fluent English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
