Jo Wahl, MS, BSN, FACHE, NE-BC, is a seasoned healthcare executive and nurse leader with deep experience overseeing the clinical operations of multiple complex departments in inpatient and ambulatory settings. A registered nurse in Michigan, her extensive career includes more than two decades and numerous leadership positions with a leading healthcare and medical services provider in Southwest Detroit.

Most recently, Ms. Wahl led clinical nursing patient care services for a 363-bed community hospital in Michigan with more than $600 million in revenue. In this role, she was responsible for ensuring clinical quality, safety education, staff development, and care delivery innovation and design to support integration. She is also an adjunct clinical faculty member at the Madonna University College of Nursing and Health, where she provides clinical supervision for students in the MSN/MBA program.

Ms. Wahl’s representative engagements and expertise before joining BRG | Prism included:

  • Served as clinical lead for EPIC EMR implementation throughout inpatient and outpatient areas of care.
  • Administrative leader for all nursing care in inpatient and ambulatory campus sites, as well as ancillary clinical department and services, for 361-bed hospital in Michigan. Oversaw 300 FTEs and key revenue productivity inpatient product lines, generating operating gross revenue of $100 million.
  • Developed and implemented professional nursing practice model, governance structure, and staffing models to align to budget variability.
  • Developed and implemented nursing quality plan, online management tool, education department, and resources to improve competencies in clinical nursing practice.
  • Improved clinical documentation through implementation of electronic nurse care planning with significant improvements in core measures.
  • Collaborated with physician and ancillary departmental leaders to develop multidisciplinary and nursing-driven clinical protocols.
  • Opened Clinical Decision Unit for observation patients, and developed and implemented process and team for patient admission access and clinical bed placement.
