Janet Rieksts-Alderman is a Managing Director in BRG’s Global Capital Projects and Construction practice, based in the firm’s Toronto office. She brings experience in Capital Projects advisory services and specifically of project governance and reporting, risk management, project audits and reviews, and claims and disputes. Her industry experience includes infrastructure, transportation, real estate, oil and gas, energy, utilities, mining, manufacturing, shipbuilding, financial services, and government. She has served clients in locations including Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Mexico, South and Central America, India, and Australia. She has worked on projects of sizes ranging from hundreds of thousands to tens of billions of dollars.
Ms. Rieksts-Alderman focuses on building in transparency and reporting that lead to identification of early warning signs and predictability in projects. She provides valuable information to allow owners to adjust to, avoid, and minimize costly claims and disputes. Her areas of service include claims and disputes, risk reviews, risk assessment, internal audit support, project reviews, board training, and Owner Representative.
Ms. Rieksts-Alderman was previously a partner with a Canadian claim, expertise, training, and project management services firm; and a vice president with a Big Four firm. She is a board member and chair of the Governance Committee for Waterfront Toronto, a board member and chair of the HR Committee for the Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO), an alumna for the Governor General Leadership Conference, and a volunteer for Pathways to Education.
