Howard Rosenkrantz is a director in Berkeley Research Group’s Global Investigations + Strategic Intelligence group, based in New York. He has more than 20 years of litigation, financial, and consulting experience, including 8 years at public accounting firms. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of New York, Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF), and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
Prior to joining BRG, Mr. Rosenkrantz was a senior manager in the forensic litigation and valuation services practice of a major professional services firm, and a manager in both the financial advisory and litigation services practices of two large consulting firms. He was also previously a manager at a real estate accounting firm. In this capacity, he performed forensic investigations and audited private companies in the real estate industry. He began his career with a major real estate accounting practice, where he audited public and private companies in the real estate industry.
As a director at BRG, Mr. Rosenkrantz has experience in white collar crime, internal investigations, internal control remediation, breach of fiduciary duty, flow of funds analysis and kickback, bid rigging, and steering schemes. His experience includes investigations on behalf of audit and special committees of the boards of directors in connection with misappropriation and embezzlement of company funds, internal control remediation, and other fraudulent activity. Many of these investigative matters required extensive forensic accounting expertise and analysis of companies’ financial records.
In addition to his fraud investigation experience, Mr. Rosenkrantz has experience in litigation matters in such areas as patent damages, copyright, trade dress, and trademark infringement damages and damages due to breach of contract, fraud, and unjust enrichment. In these matters, he has addressed issues such as lost profits, reasonable royalties, disgorgement of infringer’s profits, market share, breach of contract claims, and pre-judgment interest.
Mr. Rosenkrantz has assisted clients in a broad range of industries including banking, healthcare, consumer and industrial products, hardware/software, telecommunications, real estate, construction, entertainment and sports, manufacturing, and retail.
