Gabe Koch

Gabe Koch is a Director in BRG Corporate Finance with a focus on helping clients solve complex operational and financial challenges during periods of stress and uncertainty. He has over 20 years of operating, consulting, and strategy experience working with executive teams, staff, and other key stakeholders in quickly assessing opportunities, developing realistic rapid improvement programs, and delivering results through implementation. He has served in general management roles and on advisory engagements with large multinationals, private equity portfolio companies, and entrepreneurial startups in North and South America, Europe, and Asia.

Mr. Koch has worked on a number of transformation programs for healthy to highly distressed businesses. Most recently, he assisted the COO/president of a financial services company in developing a turnaround program to support the sale of a distressed private equity-backed financial services company via a Chapter 11 filing. He also partnered with the CFO’s team of a local power authority to drive the transformation of the Finance and Accounting function, ultimately freeing up $60 million of available cash; and he worked with the board and new management team of a distressed third-party logistics company to develop a comprehensive turnaround plan, resulting in exceeding EBITDA targets by 25 percent. In Latin America, Mr. Koch worked closely with the corporate leadership of an $8 billion global consumer products company to manage the successful restructuring of the company’s subsidiaries in Argentina and Brazil.

Before joining BRG, Mr. Koch was a director in the Turnaround and Restructuring Services practice of a major turnaround consulting firm, where he assisted clients in rapid performance improvement programs and company restructurings. Before that, he served on the management team of a private equity-sponsored manufactured constructed company focused on the government, military, and education sectors, helping to grow revenues by five times over a four-year period. He also frequently works with small businesses and startup ventures in an advisory capacity.

Mr. Koch is a Certified Insolvency & Restructuring Advisor (CIRA), for which he has received the Distinguished Performance Award from the Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors; and a Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP).
