Alex Leslie is a Director in BRG’s Global Investigations + Strategic Intelligence practice, based in London. He has almost 20 years of experience in the investigations industry and has worked for a broad range of clients, principally across industry and financial services.
Fluent in French and German, Mr. Leslie originally specialized in Western and Eastern Europe. For the last 15 years, he has focused on sub-Saharan Africa. During this time, he has worked on hundreds of projects in most countries in both regions. His key areas of expertise lie in countries such as Germany, France, Italy, and Spain, as well as Nigeria, Angola, South Africa, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Kenya. He has worked on projects all over the world.
Mr. Leslie has also worked on a variety of projects and concerns advising the full spectrum of clients from sovereign governments and governmental bodies, through investment banks, private equity houses, development finance institutions, and major corporates, to personal and pro-bono clients. He has undertaken tasks that have ranged from Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and UK Bribery Act due diligence to more specialized business intelligence including strategic communications and M&A support, FCPA self-reporting, in-country risk mapping, fraud investigations, and asset tracing.
Mr. Leslie has a strong understanding of the regulatory and data environments in Europe and sub-Saharan Africa and an excellent network of contacts throughout both regions. Before joining BRG, he worked for several leading security and private risk management companies in London.
