Robert Outram is an associate director at BRG in London and has ten years of experience in disputes, valuation, forensic accounting and auditing, primarily in the context of litigation and international arbitration (including in the UK High Court, Grand Court of the Cayman Islands, Singapore High Court, ICC, ICSID, SIAC and HKIAC).
Mr. Outram’s engagements most commonly include the valuation of businesses and shares and/or the quantification of economic damages.
Mr. Outram is experienced in the preparation of expert reports in some of the world’s largest and most complex commercial arbitrations and litigations. He has worked with, and managed engagements for, valuation and accounting experts ranked as global thought leaders in the Legal 500.
Mr. Outram works closely with solicitors and counsel to manage the expert workstreams on his matters and to explain key financial issues. He also has provided consulting support to legal teams at the liability stage of disputes through to hearings and award, including analysis of the effect of damages on case strategies and settlement options. He also has experience in investigations and assisting legal teams with disclosure exercises involving large volumes of financial information.
Mr. Outram has experience in valuation in advisory and compliance contexts. As well as valuing intellectual property in a contentious context, he has valued intangibles for acquisition accounting requirements. He also has broad experience of statutory auditing in a range of sectors, including several venture capital firms, the audits of which predominantly comprised the assessment of the fair value of equity investments in small businesses.
Mr. Outram is a fully qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA) with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
