Rich Zhu is an associate director with BRG’s Health Analytics practice in Washington, DC.

He has approximately ten years of experience in the healthcare and life science industries, specializing in new product and market strategy, value-based care, network and contracting, utilization management, population health, and digitalization, across Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial lines of business. He has a comprehensive and deep understanding of healthcare market and dynamics and has worked with national and regional payers, providers of various sizes, state and federal government agencies, and life science companies (i.e., pharmaceutical and med tech companies). He has expertise in advanced data analytics using claims, social determinants of health (SDOH), and quality data; rate setting; program evaluations; and cost and outcomes measurement studies.

Mr. Zhu has led large engagements with large payers with value-based care strategy, provider contracting and reimbursement strategies, provider performance measurement, and financial and compliance reporting. He has assisted state governments on development of accountable care organization (ACO) strategy and operations. He also has special expertise in affordability issues, working with various payers to identify savings opportunities and develop execution plans to realize the savings.

Mr. Zhu is a credentialed health actuary (Associate of the Society of Actuaries).
