Rebecca Harris, RN

    Becky Harris, RN, is a nurse consultant with more than twenty years of experience helping to improve clinical and operational performance for hospitals and integrated delivery networks.

    She has guided healthcare providers across the country, ranging from large systems to freestanding rural clinics, through engagements focused on care variation, care delivery redesign, care management, cost reduction, revenue capture, strategic planning, service-line development, workforce management, workflow, and patient throughput. She has also leveraged her frontline clinical experience to provide interim executive leadership in a variety of roles, leading organizations through financial and clinical transformation.

    Before joining BRG, Ms. Harris was a director with a leading GPO and performance improvement company, where she combined her clinical expertise and business acumen to drive change in operations and performance for providers. She also brings firsthand experience as a clinician and healthcare executive, having held leadership positions within several hospitals.

    Ms. Harris’ representative engagements and expertise before joining BRG included:

    • Led projects for healthcare organizations to deliver up to $33 million in positive bottom-line impact.
    • Collaborated with pioneer accountable care organizations and other providers to share best practices in designing innovative, coordinated care delivery systems aimed at enhancing access, improving outcomes, and reducing cost to meet changing financial goals.
    • Maintained overall financial and operational accountability for the Outcomes Management Department for 178-bed community hospital, supporting hospital, outpatient and post-acute services, and all organization-owned physicians in the areas of risk management, compliance, patient safety, quality, patient experience, accreditation, infection prevention, and process improvement.
    • Used trends in Medicare and Medicaid to revise post-acute admissions criteria and increase overall occupancy acuity to generate $1.5 million in revenue. Revised and implemented organizational structure, delivery systems, monitoring programs, and tools to promote quality and increase efficiencies, resulting in reduced pharmacy errors (60%), accidents and injuries (24%), and infections (17%), and over $255,000 annual savings.
