Orlando L. Alvarez Jr. is a managing director in BRG’s Healthcare Performance Improvement practice.
He has twenty-seven years of experience in healthcare working in US markets including Arizona, Florida, Indiana, Ohio, and South Carolina.
Mr. Alvarez is a recognized thought leader and innovator in the field of healthcare strategy and business development. He has demonstrated success growing market share, volume, and revenue. He has extensive experience in strategic planning, growth management, alignment strategies, product development, and branding. He has led business transactions including divestitures, mergers, acquisitions, and corporate affiliations.
Before joining BRG, Mr. Alvarez served as chief strategy officer for Cleveland Clinic Florida. He led strategy initiatives resulting in significant growth and expansion in the state; and served as a leader in the Enterprise Strategy Office for the organization.
Before that, he served as senior vice president, Strategy & Business Development, for Sisters of Charity Health System in Cleveland, Ohio. He was also regional VP for Business Development for Vanguard Health Systems in Nashville, Tennessee, leading its Arizona market. For ten years, he served as VP of Marketing and Development for Mercy Health System in Miami. He was also VP for Market Development and Managed Care in Indianapolis, Indiana, as well as the regional director of Business Development in Florida for OrNda HealthCorp.
Mr. Alvarez is a fellow of the Hispanic Leadership Institute. He has served on multiple industry boards and in many professional and civic organizations.
