Karen Barrow brings more than twenty-five years of comprehensive healthcare supply chain expertise supported by fifteen years of clinical experience as a registered nurse.
As a consultant and group purchasing organization (GPO) leader, she has led, developed, and implemented contracts and projects aimed at improving supply and device management, including high-cost/high-preference medical devices, pharmacy and laboratory services, capital, construction, computer hardware, and purchased services. Ms. Barrow has helped hospitals and health systems across the country optimize supply chain operations and reduce costs by millions of dollars, often improving patient safety and quality of care in the process.
Ms. Barrow has spoken at numerous prestigious industry conferences, including the Healthcare CEO Forum, American Hospital Association (AHA) state meetings, Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN) annual conferences, and Association for Healthcare Resource & Materials Management (AHRMM) national and state meetings, as well as online accredited education programs. Before joining BRG, she served as vice president of Participant Development and Integration for the country’s largest nonprofit health system’s resource and supply management organization. In this role, she directed and developed national teams focused on hospital integration, contract and program implementation, supply chain operations, and auditing.
