Jason Tenenbaum, PhD, is a leading expert in BRG’s Physician Enterprise Solutions group and helps implement change for hospital and integrated delivery system (IDS)-owned medical groups of all sizes.
He specializes in developing physician leadership and governance structures, improving patient access in the ambulatory setting, designing and implementing physician and non-physician provider compensation plans, and designing and implementing hospital-based service contracting and staffing.
Over the past seven years with BRG, Dr. Tenenbaum has deployed sophisticated analytics to provide healthcare executives with key performance insights and drive positive change for their organizations. His work has helped lead to access improvements for patients and greater efficiencies in the ambulatory care setting. He has also implemented new physician compensation plans, redesigned hospital-based service programs, and put in place improved physician leadership structures and medical directorship programs.
Prior to joining BRG, Dr. Tenenbaum participated in early stage drug discovery into central nervous system (CNS) and immunology and inflammation-related disorders, including transplantation and chronic kidney disease.
Representative examples of his engagement experience include:
- Led a patient access improvement project at a community-based hospital system in central Arkansas that helped create a $1.7 million increase in medical group net revenues.
- Oversaw a physician practice improvement program at a three-hospital system in Connecticut that helped create over $8.5 million in increased net revenue and reduced costs. Savings included $2.0 million from a medical leadership structure redesign, converting over 11,000 administrative hours back to clinically available time.
- Developed a new hospital medicine strategy for a community-based hospital in Louisiana that helped save over $1 million in costs while maintaining quality and safety outcomes.
