Jamie Shafto is a director and testifying delay expert witness within BRG’s Global Construction practice.
He has twenty-one years of experience working within planning/programming-related disciplines, including forensic delay analysis, productivity analysis, tender and construction planning, project management and development management.
Mr Shafto has been appointed as an independent expert witness, opining on matters relating to delay. He has provided written and oral evidence in International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC) arbitrations and has been cross-examined by Queen’s Counsel.
Before being appointed as a delay expert witness, Mr Shafto provided extensive assistance to an industry-leading delay expert in both common and civil law arbitrations. He regularly provides support to counsel with the preparation of pleadings, cross-examination of expert and factual witnesses and closing submissions. He prepares and defends delay claims on behalf of employers, contractors and subcontractors and carries out independent determinations of delay claims.
Utilising his extensive knowledge and practical experience, Mr Shafto has conducted seminars to lawyers, contractors and consultants debating the various delay analysis techniques.
