Gary Dowling brings over thirty years of experience in executive leadership roles in every segment of the healthcare supply chain, including providers, medical and pharmaceutical distributors, a logistics provider, a manufacturer, and a healthcare IT provider.
Before joining BRG, Mr. Dowling served as a managing partner in a Big Four consulting firm as the national practice leader for healthcare supply chain and non-labor advisory services to healthcare provider organizations and life sciences device manufacturers. He has held partner-level and national supply chain practice leader positions with management consulting firms, providing advisory services across the entire healthcare supply chain with an emphasis on strategy, market innovation, operations improvement, data analytics, and non-labor cost reductions. His experience includes:
- Developed and launched commercial supply collaborative with six market-centric provider organizations to target total non-labor spend cost reductions, commercialization, and clinical supply chain integration
- Modeled protocols for evidence-based product selection within a major academic medical center (AMC) provider, migrating toward evidence-based product design with life sciences companies
- End-to-end data exchange from “point of care through to raw material demand planning” within a healthcare ecosystem
- Launched self-distribution capability within a major AMC to yield direct overseas shipments from original equipment manufacturers (OEM)/life sciences manufacturers points of production
- Modeling for clinical simulation center to provide a “test bench” environment for evidence product design collaboration with providers, researchers, and life sciences manufacturers
