Antonie van Tonder

Antonie van Tonder advises original equipment manufacturers, engineering procurement and construction companies, subcontractors, and general contractors in the evaluation, review, and resolution of construction-related claims, disputes, and litigation.

Mr. van Tonder’s legal training has enabled him to successfully complete both US-based and international arbitrations, working closely with some of the world’s top construction litigators, delay, and cost experts. Favorable awards relating to these arbitrations have included damages, time-related impact, and loss of productivity claims valued at more than $200 million.

In his role as commercial project manager, Mr. van Tonder has managed numerous turnkey contracts for engineer, procurement and construction companies, owners, and general contractors throughout his career. He has analyzed and evaluated numerous delay, damage, and productivity claims and prepared and drafted various delay, damage, and productivity claims. This includes the successful execution of turnkey greenfield projects in the power industry valued at over $500 million.

Mr. van Tonder’s legal background allows him to successfully advise on, draft, and negotiate complex construction contracts with both customers and suppliers.
