BRG press release

Berkeley Research Group is proud to announce that it is among the founding members of International Association of Trusted Blockchain Applications (INATBA), which was launched on 3 April 2019 by European Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society Mariya Gabriel.

BRG has actively participated in the formation of this global initiative and will use the platform to inform the development of innovative policy frameworks, regulatory directives and best-practice use cases for improving public services.

Conceived by the Directorate‑General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology of European Commission, INATBA is an independent non-profit organisation that offers developers and users of distributed ledger technologies (DLT) a global forum to interact with regulators and policymakers and bring blockchain technology to the next stage.

Key objectives are to:

  1. Maintain a permanent and constructive dialogue with public authorities and regulators that will contribute to the convergence of regulatory approaches to blockchain and other DLT globally.
  2. Promote an open, transparent and inclusive global model of governance for blockchain and other DLT infrastructures that reflects the shared interests of stakeholders from industry, startups and SMEs, civil society organisations, governments and international organisations.
  3. Support the development and adoption of interoperability guidelines, specifications and global standards to enhance trusted, traceable, user-centric digital services.
  4. Develop sector-specific guidelines and specifications for the development and acceleration of trusted sectorial blockchain and DLT applications in specific sectors.

INATBA offers a range of opportunities to form collaborations and partnerships between policymakers, technologists, businesses, regulatory experts and academic researchers.
