Orlando Alvarez Tapped as a National Expert for Bennington College and SVMC’s Population Health Fellowship
BRG Managing Director Orlando Alvarez will participate in Bennington College and Southwestern Vermont Medical Center’s (SVMC) inaugural Population Health Fellowship program, which offers six Bennington students an opportunity to intern at SVMC to gain real-world healthcare experience and mentorship in areas including information technology, finance and communications, transitional care, opioid response and social determinants of health, community health, and nutrition and food security. As a 1992 Bennington College alum, he will provide insight and coaching to this next generation of healthcare leaders.
Mr. Alvarez, who leads BRG | Prism Healthcare’s Strategy practice, will give a lecture to the Bennington fellows and SVMC leadership on January 30, providing a national view of population health. He will return on February 20 for Field Work Term Night to listen to the fellows’ final presentations and provide feedback.
“It is a privilege to collaborate with both my alma mater and our past client SVMC to advance population health in the community and provide valuable experience to tomorrow’s healthcare leaders,” said Mr. Alvarez, who is the first Bennington College graduate invited to participate. “I commend SVMC and the college on this innovative approach, which will ultimately benefit the broader community that the two institutions serve.”
