Dr. Laura D’Andrea Tyson Joins BRG as Special Advisor

Berkeley Research Group, LLC, a preeminent expert advisory and data analytics firm, today announced that Dr. Laura D’Andrea Tyson has joined the firm as a special advisor.

Dr. Tyson is a member of President Barack Obama’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board. She served in the Clinton Administration, was chair of the Council of Economic Advisers between 1993 and 1995, and was the President’s National Economic Adviser between 1995 and 1996.

As a special advisor, Dr. Tyson will provide public policy and regulatory consulting for clients in the United States and be available to BRG clients on legislative and regulatory developments and their likely economic impacts.

Dr. Tyson is the S.K. and Angela Chan Professor of Global Management at the Haas School of Business at the University of California Berkeley. She served as dean of the London Business School from 2002 to 2006 and as dean of Haas from 1998 to 2001.

Since 2007, Dr. Tyson has served as a senior advisor to the McKinsey Global Institute and the Center for American Progress. She is a member of the Brookings Institution Hamilton Project Advisory Council and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Corporation. Dr. Tyson is on the advisory boards of Newman’s Own Foundation, The Rock Creek Group, Generation Investment Management, Credit Suisse Research Institute, and H&Q Asia Pacific. She is a member of the boards of directors of Eastman Kodak Company, Morgan Stanley, AT&T, Peter G. Peterson Institute of International Economics, New America Foundation, CB Richard Ellis, and Silver Spring Networks.

Dr. Tyson has written for many publications including the New York Times, Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, and Washington Post, and she was a monthly columnist for BusinessWeek between 1998 and 2005. She has made numerous television appearances on economic issues. She is the author of several reports, academic papers, and books on competitiveness, industrial policy and international trade, including the influential book Who’s Bashing Whom? Trade Conflict in High Technology Industries.

Dr. Tyson recently testified before the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee in a hearing on the economic relationship between the United States and China.
